Terminal will not power

1) Faulty battery
2) Faulty keypad
3) Faulty battery contacts (inside handle)

1) Replace with known good battery
2) Send unit in for repair
3) Inspect battery contacts (if contacts are damaged send in for repair)

Unable to boot terminal into “Program Loader”

1) Improper key sequence used to enter mode
2) Faulty Keypad

1) Power off unit and boot terminal into “Command Mode” (see table 1)
2) Send unit in for repair

RF driver failed to load

1) Wrong version of LWP\UPD files loaded.
2) Faulty radio

1) Reload LWP\UPD files with correct version.
2) Send unit in for repair.

Terminal Will not associate to AP (access point)

1) Improperly configured network settings

1) Reconfigure network settings (see configuration notes 1)

Unable to obtain IP (DHCP)

1) Boot mode set to manual entry

1) Reconfigure MU IP and set boot mode to DHCP

Terminal boots to “No applications” “D:” prompt

Configuration Notes

  1. Configure network settings (if not associating)
    1. When screen displays “Terminal cannot associate with AP. You’re out of range or not configured. CTRL – C to end or other key to retry” Press <CTRL> then <C>. Press <Y> to halt batch process.
    2. At the “D:\>” prompt type “cfg24” for 1Mb or 2Mb radios or “cfg11” for 11Mb radios.
    3. Scroll down to “NET ID” or “ESS id” and press <ENTER>
    4. Delete the current entry and enter the “NET id” or “ESS id” of your wireless network then press <ENTER>.
    5. Scroll down to “Subnet Mask” and press <ENTER>.
    6. Delete the current entry and enter the subnet mask for your network and press <ENTER>.
    7. Scroll down to “Default Router” and press <ENTER> (If you aren’t using a default router skip this step).
    8. Delete the current entry and enter your default router and press <ENTER>.
    9. Scroll down to exit and reboot the terminal (if using DHCP do not exit and continue to note 2)

  1. Configure Network settings (if not getting IP via DHCP)
    1. Scroll to “boot mode” and press “enter”
    2. Change boot mode to “DHCP” and press “enter”
    3. Scroll down to exit and reboot the terminal (if using WEP encryption do not exit and continue to note 3)

  1. Configure Network settings (if using WEP encryption)
    1. Scroll down to “Encryption” and press “enter”
    2. Highlight “Set Mode” and press “enter”
    3. Scroll up or down to change mode to either “128bit keys” or “40bit keys” and press “enter”
    4. Highlight “Enter Keys” and press “enter”
    5. Enter the WEP key in key 1 (the key needs to be in a HEX format) and press “enter”
    6. Press “CLR” and scroll down to exit.
    7. Reboot terminal
