Symptom

Cause(s)

Resolution(s)

Wont connect to network

1) Incorrect ESSID
2) Incorrect encryption key (if using WEP\WPA)

1) Enter correct ESSID (see note 1)
2) Enter correct WEP\WPA encryption key (see note 1)

Touch screen not working properly

1) Screen alignment is out of adjustment
2) Touch screen is bad

1) Re-calibrate touch screen (see note 2)
2) Terminal will need to be sent in for repair.

Notes:

  1. Configuring network settings
    1. Click on the “start” menu
    2. Select “Power Tools”
    3. Click on the “EZ Config Utilities” icon
    4. Click on the “DeviceConfig” icon
    5. Press and hold down on the “802.11b” folder icon.
    6. When the menu appears select “enable”
    7. Press and hold down on the “802.11b” folder icon
    8. When the menu appears select “Set to Add only”
    9. In the lower part of the screen press and hold on “SSID”
    10. When the menu appears select “Modify”
    11. In the “Value” field enter the correct SSID for your network and click on “ok”
    12. If you are using WEP 64\128bit encryption press and hold on the “WEP” folder icon
    13. When the menu appears select “enable” (verify that “set to add only” has a check mark next to it)
    14. In the lower part of the screen press and hold on “Encryption”
    15. When the menu appears click on “modify”
    16. Set the value to the appropriate level of your WEP encryption and click “ok”
    17. Press and hold on “Authentication”
    18. When the menu appears click on “modify”
    19. Set the value for the appropriate authentication mode and click on “ok”
    20. Press and hold on “key 1”
    21. When the menu appears click on “modify”
    22. Set the value to your WEP key and click “ok”
    23. At the bottom of the screen click on “file” and select “save”
    24. At the bottom of the screen click on “Tools” and select “Launch Associated App”
    25. When terminal is done processing click “ok” 3 times
    26. Hold down “CTRL” and “SFT” at the same time until screen goes white.
    27. Terminal will reboot and connect to your network

  1. Recalibrate touch screen
    1. Click on the “start” menu.
    2. Select “Settings”
    3. Click on the “System” tab at the bottom of the screen
    4. Click on the “Screen” icon
    5. Click “Align Screen” and follow the prompts
