Hertz

Hertz is a unit of Frequency (of change in state or cycle in a sound or light wave, alternating current, or other cyclical waveform) of one cycle per second. For example, in the United States, common house electrical supply is at 60 hertz meaning the current changes direction or polarity 120 times, or 60 cycles, a second. In Europe, line frequency is 50 hertz, or 50 cycles per second.
RF frequencies used in data collection is at much higher frequency rates, usually expressed in kilohertz (kHz), megahertz (MHz) or gigahertz (GHz).

HIPAA – Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act

The Administrative Simplification provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA, Title II) requires the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to establish national standards for electronic health care transactions and national identifiers for providers, health plans, and employers. It also addresses the security and privacy of health data. The HHS states that adopting these standards will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the nation's health care system by encouraging the widespread use of electronic data interchange in health care.

HTTP – HyperTextTransfer Protocol

HTTP is the Protocol used to deliver web pages from the web Server to the web Client (your computer).

Hub

A hub is a network device that provides a central point of connection between media segments. Hubs are special repeaters that pass a signal onto multiple segments.
