Ryzex, a leading supplier of barcoding and scanning equipment solutions, has announced that it is implementing a zero waste policy in its UK headquarters.
The policy is heavily centred on recycling. With batteries, plastics, paper and cardboard already recycled, Ryzex is now introducing a process to recycle biodegradable waste also. The company estimates that by the end of the year, it will have recycled up to 36 tonnes of waste, the equivalent of 35 Mini Coopers*.
Tim Ames, managing director explains further, "As well as making environmental sense, the policy also makes business sense with local collection companies now buying our waste from us rather than us having to pay for disposal."
"With the present environmental situation, individuals have a duty to be as environmentally responsible as possible and at Ryzex we take that very seriously," added Tim. "A major part of our offering is repair and refurbish options for customers so they can extend the life cycle of their equipment for as long as possible; and then helping them responsibly dispose of that equipment when it has reached the end of its life"
Ryzex is pursuing further environmentally friendly policies with an energy and water saving assessment currently underway and a visit from Envirowise to advise the company on how it can introduce further green policies scheduled for later in the year.
The scheme at Ryzex UK is mirrored by a similar scheme in Ryzex's US operation, based in Washington State.
