Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to some frequently asked questions regarding your equipment.

1) How long should I charge my batteries before I use them the first time?

You should charge your batteries for at least 24 hours prior to using them the first time.

2) My battery is not holding a charge.

The battery may be in need of conditioning or replacement.

3) I just received my equipment and I am missing an item. What should I do?

Contact your account manager and see if the item is on back order.

4) If I am having trouble configuring and or operating my new hardware who should I call first?

Please call our customer support department at 1-800-999-2995 ext. 1138 and they will guide you through the setup and operation of your new hardware.

5) I bought an extended warranty with my hardware and it has failed (past the 90 day warranty), who should I call in order to get it repaired?

Please call our customer service department at 1-800-999-2995 ext. 1138 and they will help you get your hardware sent in for repair.

6) There is a new version of the software available for my hardware, should I upgrade the software that I have?

If your hardware is performing properly then there is no reason to upgrade the software. In rare cases this can cause new issues that can cause instability of the hardware.

7) I am having coverage issues with my current wireless network. Would using higher gain antennas fix my problem?

Installing higher gain (or larger antennas) will most likely not resolve the coverage issues. In most cases either the addition of another access point or having the site re-surveyed is the only way to correct the problem.

Note: It is not recommended to just start adding access points when there is a coverage problem. A site survey is the only way to determine the proper placement of an additional access point.

8) I am installing a new access point in my facility. What direction should the antenna point?

When installing a high gain mast mount style antenna indoors you want to have the antenna point down.
